Week 9
Body Size
When you are nine weeks pregnant, your uterus will be the size of a tiny melon. Although you still will not look very pregnant you will be experiencing some symptoms that will make you feel very pregnant. At nine weeks pregnant, you will feel extremely tired and very bloated. You might even be retaining most of the fluid that you take in. This will be a large part of the weight that you are gaining. Because of this, it is advised that you do not weigh yourself every few hours. Try only weighing yourself once a week or at most once a day.
While you are nine weeks pregnant, you will likely experience major hormonal changes. This will include major mood swings and possible anxiety. You may be happy one minute and upset over something small the next. This is completely normal. It is also normal for you to cry a lot during your pregnancy. Another common pregnancy symptom might be larger breasts. While this may be a positive side effect, they will also be very sore or tender to the touch.
Baby Size
At nine weeks your child's limbs and organs will be growing. In addition, your child's major physical features will be developed. This will include your child's arms, torso, face, and head. Your child's sex organs will also be developing at this stage. Even if this is the case, you still will not be able to know the sex of your child's organs until around sixteen or twenty weeks into the pregnancy.
Your child's muscles and organs are now communicating to each other. This means that you may be able to see your child move by itself. His or her heart is also now separated into four different chambers and growing stronger with each passing day.
You may notice that your child's eyelids are now fused together. They will stay this way until you are around 27 weeks pregnant.
Compare Size
At nine weeks pregnant, your child will be around thirty millimeters long. This is around the size of an olive. In addition, your child has gained weight. He or she is now two grams. Your child will continue to gain weight from here on out.
