When you are fourteen weeks pregnant, you will begin to look pregnant at last! Of course, one of the not so pleasant symptoms of your pregnancy at fourteen weeks includes constipation. This is mainly because being pregnant will slow down your digestive system. In addition, the prenatal vitamins that you take probably contain iron. Iron will also cause constipation. To learn more about how you can eat foods to help with constipation, refer to the Wellness section on our site under Pregnancy.
Since you are now eating enough food for you and your child, you will notice more small meals are necessary during the course of the day. This will improve your energy, but you should not overwork yourself. If you overwork yourself, you release a hormone that is known as Relaxin. This hormone loosens up your joints, which could make you vulnerable to injury. Check with your doctor before you actually perform any strenuous exercises.
At fourteen weeks pregnant, your baby will begin to grow at a very rapid rate. Your child's weight will nearly match his or her length. The baby's head will be more proportional to the rest of the body.
The eyes of your baby will move closer to his or her face. The chin will begin to form at fourteen weeks pregnant. His or her neck will also grow longer. If you have a son, his prostate gland will begin to form. If you have a daughter, her ovaries will move from the abdomen to the pelvis.
At fourteen weeks, your beautiful son or daughter will be around three and a half inches and compare to the size of a peach. He or she is growing at a very fast rate and will continue to do so. Your baby now weighs close to one ounce.
