Announce You're Pregnant

Expecting a new baby is one of the most exciting times in any parent's life. Break the news to family and friends in a creative way that puts a personal statement on this unforgettable moment!>

T-shirts

Creating a unique t-shirt is a great way to spread the news. Shirts can be designed for siblings of the baby, expectant moms and dads or even new grandparents. A t-shirt proclaiming, "I'm a Big Brother" or "#1 Grandpa" might take a moment to comprehend, but it announces the big news in a manner that makes for a nice keepsake.

Ultrasound Photos

Copying an ultrasound picture is a wonderful way of making a pregnancy announcement to family and friends. Sharing such an intimate portrait of your family symbolizes the closeness you feel with everyone. Members of the family and close friends will be thrilled to see the first portrait of the soon-to-be newborn and most likely will find a nice frame or magnet for the refrigerator to showcase it.

Save-the-Date Cards

Traditionally used for saving a wedding date, save-the-date cards work equally well for letting everyone know about your upcoming arrival and due date. This makes a nice reminder to everyone who will repeatedly ask when the baby is due, so why not give them a nice reminder? No doubt, this will be a cherished piece of mail.

Family Cookout or Dinner

Organize a family get-together for a perfect way of sharing the news. Depending upon the time of year and the structure of your family, cookouts or intimate dinners work best. During a cookout, the future father could wear a "#1 Dad" apron to subtly break the news. Or during a nice dinner, special cards could be given to each guest proclaiming the news. Wrapping a small gift signifying the baby such as a rattle, pacifier or diaper pin is another way of telling guests the good news.

Personalized Cake or Cupcakes

A birthday cake that says, "Happy Birthday, Grandma" is a nice way to let the grandparents-to-be in on your little secret. This works well at holidays too. An idea for announcing the pregnancy to the father-to-be is fun with a pacifier baked inside a cake or cupcake. Once the dad-to-be dives into this special dessert, he will be even happier with the treat he finds hidden inside.

Signs

Have current siblings hold a sign announcing, "I'm a Big Brother" or "I'm a Big Sister", take a snapshot and send to family and friends. It will not take them long to put it all together and give you a quick phone call of congratulations!

Shopping List

Make a shopping list for the grandparents-to-be consisting of all types of baby items. From diapers to onesies, when they look over the list they will soon realize the relevance of the items and your exciting news.

Coupon Book or Wanted Ad

Design a coupon book filled with a variety of coupons. Hand them out accordingly. For grandparents use "Good for One New Grandbaby!" Wanted ads are an extension of this idea. Create an original ad for everyone. Cousins will enjoy, "Available for Play Dates", while aunts and uncles will delight in "Possible Babysitting Opportunities". At the bottom of each ad, include '"Position to begin" and follow with the expected due date.

Radio Station

Call a local radio station to announce the news to everyone at once. Follow it up with a request for a baby themed song such as The Supremes "Baby Love" or Amy Grant's "Baby Baby".
