What to expect in your first trimester
First Trimester Shocked, scared, excited-these are all common emotions to feel in your first trimester of pregnancy. Usually, all three hit you at once. What happens during your first trimester of pregnancy? According to the experts at iVillage.com:
- The fertilized egg has completed a seven to ten day journey to the uterus, where it then settles into the endometrial lining. The egg, by this point, has divided into two: the placenta and the embryo.
- Baby organs begin to develop. Even facial features such as eyes and ears begin to form.
- By the time you are 6 weeks along, you likely know you are pregnant.
- During this time you can expect to feel anything from dizziness to grumpiness to fatigue to headaches to morning sickness. But don't worry about morning sickness, as this should vanish by your second trimester.
