Ideas on how to choose baby names
Naming Your Baby Of course there are no hard and fast rules on naming your baby; as the most important criteria for naming your child is simply that you and your partner like it. However, it certainly can't help to keep a few things in mind when you and your partner are in the process of choosing baby names.
Things to Keep in Mind When Choosing Baby Names Sound: How your child's name sounds when spoken is something to think about. How does it sound? Is it hard-sounding? Does it roll off the tongue or is it a tongue twister? When it comes to naming your child-remember, this is the name he or she will be stuck with for the rest of his or her life.
How Unusual Should It Be? Of course that's a personal choice, however, keep in mind that although a unique name can make your child stand out-it can also cause a tad bit of hardship-especially if everyone has difficulty pronouncing it.
In the Family: Family and friend names can give you a good choice of names from which to choose.
Heritage: Your family heritage is important to who your child is. Therefore, you might consider naming your child in a way that reflects that.
Nicknames: Avoiding choosing baby names that are ripe for teasing.
