How to throw a baby shower
Planning a Baby Shower 101 You don't have to be a party pro to plan, set up and throw a baby shower your friend will never forget. We've compiled a list of baby shower games, and baby shower ideas to help you with the planning of a baby shower from start to finish. First: Choose a date! We recommend you hold your baby shower 3-4 months before the baby's due date. Should the baby shower be co-ed? It is perfectly acceptable to have a co-ed baby shower. Consider planning a baby shower that involves the father of the baby-to-be and his closest family members. Who should host the baby shower? Usually it is a family member or the person closest to the mommy-to-be, but there are no hard and fast rules on that.
What Are Some Baby Shower Games You Can Play? Courtesy of Fun-Attic.com-below are a few baby shower games you might want to consider throwing into the party mix.
Baby Relay You will need life-sized baby dolls for this game. Each team will have the same items to dress their doll with. To start the game, have the dolls dressed and across the room on a table. You can even use peanut butter in the diaper for added excitement! The first person on the team will undress the doll, remove the diaper and put the doll in the tub. Next, they come back to the team and dry the doll off, powder and diaper its bottom, then dress the doll. The first team to finish the rotation will be the winners!
Go Ride a Bike! Make sure each team has a bike, a blindfold and a course with 3-5 cones. If you don't have cones, you can use soup cans, milk jugs, whatever works. One person must ride the bike blindfolded while another team member operates as the backseat driver; by directing the driver where to go. The first team to complete the rotation will be the winners!
Big Foot Assign each team one large pair of rubber boots. Have teams line up behind a starting line. The first person on each team must slip on the boots, run down a grass course and come back, take off the boots and so on. When the last person on one of the teams crosses back through the starting line, he or she is the winner.
Gum Smack Create teams. Have the teams line up and sit down if possible. On the word "go", make the first person on each team puts on a pair of garden gloves. Then instruct the teams to open a package of gum, pull out a piece, unwrap it, chew it, blow a bubble, then pass the gloves to the next player. The first team to complete the task wins!
