How do I know that I am in labor
What Are Signs of Labor? Symptoms of labor are different for every woman. Symptoms of labor are more of a process rather than a sole event. When you're in labor-you may experience one or more signs of labor:
Labor Signs
- Your cervix will become thinner and dilated — up to 10 centimeters.
- Contractions will last longer and feel stronger in intensity.
- You may have persistent lower back pain, sometimes accompanied by menstrual type cramps.
- You may notice the appearance of a brownish or blood-tinged mucus discharge.
- Breaking of water, but only if it's accompanied by contractions.
- We recommend you double-check these facts with your doctor!
There you go! No more wondering if you're experiencing labor signs or not. If you're not sure what you're experiencing are labor signs-or even if you are-it's important to stay in close touch with your doctor or midwife; especially during the last few weeks of your pregnancy.
