Fertility Drugs and Pregnancy Effects
Fertility Drugs and Pregnancy Effects
Certain fertility drugs such as Clomid are associated with as much as a 10% greater chance of conceiving twins, triplets, or more. Generally speaking, however, the chances of multiple births while taking prescription strength Clomid is considered to be fairly low.
In terms of fertility drugs and pregnancy effects, Clomid has one of the highest ovulation rates. Typically, 7 to 9 out of 10 women taking Clomid will ovulate within the first three cycles. Although the fertility and pregnancy success rates of women taking Clomid may vary according to a variety of factors, about 40% of women will be able to successfully conceive within the first three months of taking Clomid as prescribed. The rate of live births for women using Clomid is estimated to be between 30% and 60%.
Fertility and Pregnancy – How to Misuse Fertility Drugs
It is important to remember the negative effects of Clomid on fertility and pregnancy when taken by women who do not have any ovulation problems. Unfortunately these women may actually be making their bodies less effective at achieving pregnancy. Using Clomid unnecessarily can create new problems, such as making your cervical mucus hostile to your partner’s sperm, thereby lowering your chances of successfully achieving pregnancy.
