Baby and Infant Walking Shoes
Babies need bona-fide shoes once they are old enough that they are walking on rough surfaces or outdoors. Infants need booties or infant shoes to keep their feet warm. Cruisers often do better barefoot because it allows their soft, round feet the best grip. But baby feet are very tender so surfaces on which they walk barefoot have to be warm, clean and dry. Baby walking shoes should be flexible to help the little ones balance, and made of breathable materials because their feet perspire. They should be roomy rather than tight. Babies' feet grow in spurts, often as much as half a size every 2 months, so shopping early and taking advantage of sales is smart.
